What do you all think about the current Code of Points and about the latest modifications? Do the changes have a positive influence on the sport? Will they really get some dance and choreography back into the routines? Or do you possibly think all the current code is no good and they should have kept the old code as well as the 10?? Feel free to discuss this here...

If nothing else the new code can really help judges to decide the REAL winner. If we had this code back in the 70's Comaneci would never have been able to get a perfect score- the only reason she got that score is due to the requirements of judges to rank the gymnasts as well as score them. Comaneci ended up being the top gymnast of the comp, but someone had already been given a 9.9! so... 10.0 was all that they could give!

So far, the senior gymnasts have just kept their floor music and are standing around more in the corner waving their arms to make up for that tumble they cannot do anymore.
I hope this changes. Here is the way I see it happening: Nastia busts out a gorgeous new floor routine at Nats and Worlds and the judges see it and how nice if flows (hey it is Nastia here!). Then everyone who has a cookie cutter routine with long stops and waving arms and poses get maximum deductions. Then these people go back to their gyms and make new gorgeous routines - PROBLEM SOLVED!
